Kuwait City: Hundreds of Kuwaiti nationals and non-Kuwaiti addicts started undergoing treatment last year, Al Rai reported.
According to a health official, 1,840 Kuwaiti citizens entered the Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre, seeking medical assistance to overcome their addiction.
The official said that 438 non-Kuwaitis were also admitted to the rehab centre last year, pointing out that the rate of those who recover and overcome their addition is on the rise.
However, he warned that the rate of addicts among young people is increasing alarmingly, especially in the ages ranging from 19 to 23.
