THORKHILL Star was the biggest winner at yesterday’s horse racing at Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.
The Al Adiyat Racing-owned favourite beat Austin Powers by a head to win the Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa Cup for imported horses carrying the highest cash prize of the day - BD12,000.
Proposed was third and Vale Do Sol fourth.
Another favourite Dushanbe, owned by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and ridden by Andrew Eliott, beat Harash by a head to win the Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa Cup for locally bred horses carrying a cash prize of BD3,000.
Caped Crusader was third and The Dark Knight fourth.
Muwaaly, owned by Al-Afoo Racing Stable, trained by Mohammed Saeed and ridden by Ebrahim Nader, beat Taqaseem by three-and-half-a-length to win the Late Yousif Rashid Bouresly Cup, a handicap race, carrying a cash prize of BD2,000.
George The First was third and Main Straits fourth.
Archaic, owned by Hasan Mefareh Alajmi, trained by Yousif Tahar and ridden by Anas Al Siyabi, beat Taffe by a head to win the handicap race carrying a cash prize of BD2,000.
Nibras Bounty was third and Android fourth.
Al Tuwaisah 1694, owned by Al Sakhir, trained by Jaffar Marzooq and ridden by Anas Al Siyabi, beat Al Musannah 1724 by one-and-one-fourth-length to win the race for Arabian horses carrying a cash prize of BD1,500.
Al Shuwaimeh 1729 was third and Al Jellabieh 1709 fourth.
Sadara, owned by Al Awlad Syndicate, trained by James Naylor and ridden by Andrew Elliott, beat Madaar by nine lengths to win the race for locally bred horses carrying a cash prize of BD2,000.
Manayer was third and Katie Elder fourth.
Pink Ribbon Girl, owned by M and E Racing, trained by Alan Smith and ridden by Rosie Jessop, beat Lazzam by one-and-half-a-length to win the handicap race carrying a cash prize of BD2,000.
