Muscat: Oman's Third Environment Forum, entitled "The Green Economy: The Future of Safe Development" will take place on Wednesday under the patronage of Mohammed bin Salim Al-Tobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs, with the participation of Dr Mohamed G Kafafy, president of World Green Economy Council (WGEC).
The forum, which represents one of the major prominent initiatives of Al Roya newspaper, is a unique forum in the Sultanate held in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Environment. It is being attended by specialists and those interested in the environment from inside and outside the Sultanate, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
The forum includes two themes: the first entitled "Greening the Economy and Building Wealth" and the second "Green Investments and Future Opportunities".
The Third Environment Forum is being held within the context of the intensification of many environmental crises in recent years, such as climate crises, biodiversity, fuel and energy and global warming due to the reliance on the "brown economy," as well as significant risks to future generations, the increasing problems of economic insecurity and thus threatening sustainable development.
