His Majesty King Hamad received at Sakhir Palace Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) first deputy chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president, Bahrain Athletics Association president and Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities honorary president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa who introduced to His Majesty the winners of the main competitions in the second Bahrain Strongest Man Championship which was held under his patronage.
The meeting was attended by His Majesty’s personal representative Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the King’s representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and SCYS chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The proceeds of the championship have been allocated to support cancer patients.
Winners
Winners of the heavyweight competition are Salman Salim Abdullah Salim, Hussain Ali Juma’a Ali Fadhel and Ahmed Mohammed Al Mousawi while Ahmed Mohammed Taha, Faris Mustafa Ibrahim Al Kooheji and Isa Aref Isa Rashdan topped in the medium weight category. The lightweight championship was claimed by Khalid Abdah Ali Al Dhofari, Sayed Shiber Abdullah Shiber and Yusef Abdullah Al Gallaf.
The King congratulated Shaikh Khalid on the success of the championship, praising his tireless efforts to develop such competitions. He also congratulated the winners on their achievements, wishing them further success.
His Majesty also lauded the humanitarian initiative of Shaikh Khalid to allocate the proceeds of the championship to cancer patients.
