Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox will share the screen for their first motion picture in Dakota, a family film with elements of action and adventure.
According to media reports, the film, Fox, 32, will play a small-town widow named Kate whose husband had died in combat in Afghanistan.
She's having difficulty keeping up her farm and duties running volunteer fire department when a military man - Sgt. TJ Malcolm, played by Green, 45 - brings her Dakota, her late husband’s combat dog.
The film takes a turn as the local sheriff is hell-bent on getting Kate to sell her farm, weaving all of the other elements in the story together.
'Having Megan and Brian star together is really cool for us,' producer Andrea Iervolino said in a statement, 'as we certainly won’t have to manufacture the kind of chemistry and magic that makes a family film like this so special!'
Iervolino said Dakota will be 'the type of light-hearted yet adventurous material that audiences are really responding to these days,' and they're confident the motion picture 'will touch on the soft spots audiences have for feel-good entertainment.'
Green and Fox share a six-year-old son Noah, a five-year-old son Bodhi and two-year-old daughter Journey, as well as Green's 17-year-old son Kassius with ex Vanessa Marcil.
