Riyadh: The Saudi security authorities have deported a total of 750,504 expatriates for overstaying their residence permits, flouting labour laws and violating border security.
The deportees were part of 2,987,317 expatriates who were arrested in a nationwide clampdown on illegal foreign workers, which started on November 15, 2017 under the slogan “Country without Lawbreakers”.
The Saudi security authorities have also arrested so far 50,388 people who attempted to cross the borders and enter the Saudi territories – of whom 49% were Yemenis, 48% Ethiopians and the remaining 3% belonged to other nationalities. The guards also arrested 2,135 people who were attempting to cross the borders and leave Saudi Arabia illegally.
