KHK MMA fighters have praised the role of Brave Combat Federation founder Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in the development of mixed martial arts and the impact of his work on fighters all over the world.
The KHK MMA fighters, who claimed three wins and one draw at Brave 23 in Jordan, thanked Shaikh Khalid for providing them with the international platform to showcase their talent.
New Super Lightweight world champion Eldar Eldarov, the first representative from Bahrain to win a world title in mixed martial arts, paid tribute to Shaikh Khalid and the KHK MMA team for their support in his pursuit of gold.
“I’m now a world champion in one of the biggest organisations in the world. Thanks to Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for this honour. I promised I would bring this belt to Bahrain, and it will stay here,” said Eldarov.
Another member of the KHK MMA team, Egypt’s Ahmed Amir, put on a valiant effort in his split draw with England’s Sam Patterson. After dominating the first round, ‘The Butcher’ had issues with his resistance, but he never gave up and managed to snatch a draw. Amir has also expressed his gratitude to Shaikh Khalid for his support to mixed martial arts and the difference it has made in his life.
“Thank you so much to Shaikh Khalid for being a great leader. He is always the first one to support me and give me advice. I’m proud and honoured to be a part of the KHK MMA family,” said Amir.
Jose Torres and Akhmed Magomedov were the other victorious members at Brave 23, while Ikram Aliskerov lost to Khamzat Chimaev.
