Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has wished the continent’s four representatives – Japan, Korea Republic, Qatar and Saudi Arabia – good luck in the Fifa U-20 World Cup Poland 2019 which kicked off yesterday.
“All four teams have done well to reach the Fifa Under-20 World Cup and on behalf of the Asian football family, we wish them the very best of luck and the Asian football family have no doubts that they will do us proud,” Shaikh Salman said.
Meanwhile, Shaikh Salman has paid tribute to Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah ibni Al Marhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’adzam Shah, the former AFC president who passed away yesterday at the age of 88.
Shaikh Salman said: “On behalf of the entire Asian football family, I send my condolences and heartfelt sympathy to His Highness’ family.”
