Facebook, the parent company of WhatsApp, has announced that WhatsApp status stories will start featuring advertisements in 2020.
The new WhatsApp was revealed at an annual Facebook Marketing Summit in Rotterdam, Netherland.
"Whatsapp will bring Stories Ads in its status product in 2020," tweeted Oilivier Ponteville, the media head at BeConnectAgency.
According to Oliver Ponteville, the ads will be shown between WhatsApp stories, just like Instagram stories.
The ad will show up on the screen with a link to redirect users to the website.

Two other features will include richer messaging format option for businesses and integration of WhatsApp product catalogue with existing Facebook Business Manager catalogue.
Richer messaging format means WhatsApp messages will have image and text along with PDF and text simultaneously in just one message.
For better user experience while chatting with businesses, Facebook is testing a feature which would help businesses to add their product catalogue directly into chats which will be useful for businesses without a website.
