Kuwait City: A Britain-based Kuwaiti twitter user has been sentenced to five years in prison for defaming the UAE.
The Criminal Court convicted Abdulla Saleh in absentia and handed him the jail term.
The convict, who sought asylum in Britain, now faces up to 31 years in jail with this latest court verdict.
The pro-Qatar twitter user kept attacking Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, which severed ties with Doha for supporting and financing terrorism.
He was sentenced on January 21 to five years in jail for posting tweets defaming Saudi Arabia.
He posted a tweet yesterday saying: "I don’t care even if I am sentenced to 100 years in jail. I am in London", according to Al Qabas.
