Cairo: The Syndicate of Musical Professions in Egypt announced lifting the suspension of Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab for statements that were considered a "harm to the Egyptian national security."
The decision to lift the suspension came after Sherine submitted a written statement to the union apologising to it and the Egyptian people.
The union said in an official statement that Sherine made it clear in her apology that she did not intend anything that would be understood as an insult to her country.
The union issued its decision of lifting the suspension and the cancellation of its resolution to stop Sherine from singing, last Wednesday.
Sherine was suspended on March 21 after being accused of insulting the Egyptian state in a statement she made, during a concert in Bahrain.
