INTERNATIONAL comedy star Russell Peters will take the stage in Bahrain this weekend.
The performance, held as part of his ‘The Deported World Tour’, will take place at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre on Saturday.
It will feature all-new material and the Canadian stand-up comedian’s signature interactions with the audience.
The tour, which began in Australia and New Zealand in February last year, has travelled to more than 40 cities in 20 countries.
In addition to Bahrain, the performer’s GCC tour includes shows in the UAE, Kuwait, Oman and two performances in Saudi Arabia.
Mr Peters’ return to live touring comes after he took time off stage since the filming of his last special, Almost Famous, for Netflix in April 2016.
During this time, he has produced and starred in his own comedy-drama limited series for Netflix, The Indian Detective, which stars Anupam Kher, William Shatner, Christina Cole and Mishqah Parthiephal.
Mr Peters has also appeared in various films including The Clapper with Ed Helms, Amanda Seyfried and Tracy Morgan, Supercon with Ryan Kwanten and John Malkovich, and Public Schooled with Judy Greer.
The latest tour also features comedian Jake Johannsen, the legendary raconteur of weird stories and one of David Letterman’s favourite comics.
Mr Peters’ previous tour travelled to more than 26 countries with over 200 performances and more than 300,000 fans in attendance.
