Bahrain Olmypic Committee secretary general Mohammed Al Nusuf yesterday confirmed a number of water sports to be featured during the Olympic Day on June 29 at the Water Garden City, near Bahrain City Centre in Manama.
Among the activities to take place includes a kids’ competition and a ‘colour run’. The highlights of the day will be a swimming race in open water, a sailing competition, kayak race, rafting, a 2km run, taekwondo, karate and martial arts.
Meanwhile, the organising committee’s sub panel held a coordinating meeting, chaired by Olympic Day supervisor Lounes Madene, with representatives of the six sports associations which will be involved in the day’s programmes.
They are the Bahrain Martial Arts Federation, Bahrain Maritime Sports Association, Bahrain Swimming Association, Bahrain Athletics Association and Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Association.
