Riyadh: A Saudi national is suing a private hospital in the province of Jazan over an alleged medical blunder.
Hassan Debaji filed a complaint with the competent authorities and asked for SR1 million in compensation for the botched surgery, which was intended to treat him from hemorrhoids.
The expatriate doctor who performed the operation on the patient has managed to 'flee' from Saudi Arabia, fearing legal prosecution.
The patient is now suffering from serious health complications due to the botched operation, which led him to file a complaint.
The doctor who made the patient believe that he would come back had in fact resigned from his work at the private hospital and left Saudi Arabia.
He contacted the patient from his native country and asked him to come to get treatment, which he refused.
