UAE: An Emirati boy and his sister suffocated to death when fire gutted their family’s house in the emirate of Fujairah.
The three-year-old Fahd Rabea Salim Al Said and Hoor Al Saidi, aged four, were alone at home, with their grandmother, as their parents were at work.
The civil defence units which rushed to the house in the area of Madhab pulled out the bodies of the siblings and referred them to competent authorities for investigation. They were later buried at Al Fujairah cemetery.
A police inquiry revealed that the house had not been fitted with smoke detectors or smart alarms. The fire damaged parts of the house and equipment.
