Riyadh: A Saudi national drowned in Malaysia as he was swimming near the Pantai Tengah, last Sunday.
The body of fifty-one-year-old Hussain Musaad Alawfi was pulled out about 30km from where he was last seen.
The deceased was staying at a nearby resort with his family. He was swimming with his two sons, Abdul Rahman, 13, and Yasir Hussain Aloufi, 21, when they were swept away from the beach by high waves.
The father and his sons decided to swim despite a red flag warning cautioning holidaymakers against swimming due to high waves and strong currents.
Langkawi Civil Defence Force (APM) rescuers managed to save the two sons.
