Riyadh: Thousands of movie fans flocked to cinema theatres to watch films in Saudi Arabia in 2018.
According to Independent Arabia, more than one million tickets were sold to moviegoers last year.
The Saudi authorities launched the first commercial movie theatre last year, ending an almost 40-year ban.
Last year, the overall number of seats stood at 973, with plans to increase the number of seats to 12,133 seats in 27 cinemas, late this year.
The Saudi authorities are planning to open more movie theatres and increase the number of seats to 30,000 in 2020.
