The Applied Science University (ASU) has announced that it has officially opened admissions for the first semester of the academic year 2019-2020.
“The university is starting its new year with a number of significant achievements at the local, regional and international levels,” said ASU president Professor Ghassan Aouad.
“Such accomplishments include the achievement of the academic institutional accreditation by the Higher Education Council.”
The university is now ranked at number 45 in the QS Arab Region University Rankings, making it the only private university in Bahrain to be ranked in the top 50.
In the Green Metric World University Ranking, ASU is ranked first at the level of private universities locally, 25th at the Arab universities level, and 692 globally.
It is also listed in the range of 301+ by the Times Higher Education World Universities Impact Rankings based on the contribution of the university towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The ISO-certified university is now an advance-HE (previously HEA) accredited centre with 47 of its staff classified as associate/fellow/senior fellow of the higher education academy.
This year, it also launched state-of-the-art engineering laboratories in its College of Engineering, developed in collaboration with UK-based London South Bank University.
“Programmes open for admissions include bachelor degrees in business administration, accounting, management information systems, political science, computer science, interior design, graphic design and law,” said vice-president for administration, finance and community engagement Dr Mohammed Yousif.
“Students may also enrol for master degrees in business administration, human resource management, accounting and finance, law and commercial law, in addition to British degrees in civil and construction engineering and architectural design engineering to be awarded by London South Bank University.”
