BAHRAIN’S senior men’s national football team won 2-0 against Portuguese club FC Alverca late on Monday night in a friendly matched played as part of their overseas training camp in Portugal.
Midfielder Mohammed Al Hardan converted a penalty and striker Ismaeel Abdullatif added the second goal for the Bahrainis, who were playing their second tune-up game of their camp. They had earlier drawn 1-1 with local outfit Farense.
Alverca are currently part of the Campeonato de Portugal, which is the third-level football league in Portugal. It is a semi-professional league organised by the Portuguese Football Federation.
Bahrain are scheduled to play another friendly in the coming days, as head coach Helio Sousa intends to give ample playing time to all of Bahrain’s players currently participating at the camp.
