A 2016 drama-comedy film, The Distinguished Citizen, will be screened at Bahrain Cinema Club, Juffair tonight at 7pm.
The storyline follows Literature Nobel Prize winner Daniel Mantovani who after refusing big and prestigious awards all over the world, accepts an invitation to visit his hometown in Argentina, which has been the inspiration for all his books. It turns out that accepting this invitation is the worst idea of his life as he has used real people as characters in his novels.
The film was nominated for the Golden Lion Award and Oscar Martínez, who played Mantovani, won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice International Film Festival.
