Saudi: Saudi Arabia and several Arab countries have rejected the postgraduate degree programme of Pakistan (Master of Surgery) and MD (Doctor of Medicine), according to Dawn, a Pakistani news website.
This decision resulted in hundreds of qualified doctors losing their jobs. A big number of them have are in Saudi Arabia and have been told to leave the country or else they'll be deported.
The Saudi ministry of health claimed that the Pakistani MS/MD degree lacked a structured training programme, which is a mandatory requirement.
Several Gulf countries such as Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain also took the same step in rejecting the Pakistani degrees.
However, the same degree is offered by India, Bangladesh, Egypt and Sudan and is acceptable in Saudi Arabia and other countries.
