According to reports, the bags containing pebbles for the stone the devil ritual mistranslated the Arabic word 'jamarat' as 'Anthrax gravel bag'.
The ministry launched the inquiry after an American Islamic preacher from Texas, Yusuf Estes, posted a video to twitter about the mistranslation and the confusion it could cause at customs for pilgrims. He also posted about the issue on his Facebook page.
The ministry said that it started the inquiry on the second day of the Haj and ordered the mistranslation to be corrected immediately.
