Soni Samaj Bahrain welcomes Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his historic maiden visit to Bahrain.
The Soni community, which hails from the state of Gujarat in India, have called Bahrain their home for more than 100 years and contributed to the flourishing jewellery and pearl sector in the Gulf region.
Soni originally means goldsmith or jeweller and merchants of gold have settled in Bahrain with generations of families enriching the true meaning of India-Bahrain friendship.
As proud Indians, the community welcomes various reforms and social schemes rolled out by the government of India for its citizens under the leadership of Mr Modi, such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, One Nation-One Tax system (GST), Fasal Bima Yojana (crop insurance), Startup India, Life Insurance, Cheaper Housing and many more.
Today, India stands tall being the second largest economy in Asia and fifth largest in the world.
The community is thrilled to endorse bilateral relations between India and Bahrain under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
The Prime Minister’s visit will bring new heights of prosperity and success in India-Bahrain relationship and the community thanks the authorities for their support and leadership.
