The education sector has always been considered the cornerstone of any society’s prosperity and one of the major contributing factors of stability, progress and growth in Bahrain.
The heart of educational values and seeds that are planted in a student’s mind is what we harvest in a well-developed and flourished generation; the base from where the leaders of tomorrow are built.
Life-long learning is a paramount task which comes with its own challenges in preparing future generations.
Since its establishment in 1985, Al Hekma International School (AHIS) has been offering supreme educational standards to hundreds of students, from PS to grade 12 through its unique educational system.
The school’s motto – ‘Dedicating our lives and hearts to building confident and motivated life-long learners’ – is translated into bringing out and refining the individual abilities of the students by preparing them to achieve success in their adult life.
In January 1994, the school’s main campus was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad.
The impressive campus is located in Sanad and boasts expansive grounds with highly-stimulating play equipment, tennis and basketball courts and soccer and track fields.
Focused on student creativity, positive spirit and strength, AHIS announced its 2019-2020 academic year theme, Super Heroes, which reflects the school’s aspiration to offer extraordinary co-curricular programmes to strengthen awareness and talents.
These programmes allow students to experience the true meaning of leadership, entrepreneurship, global citizenship and cultural awareness.
AHIS aims to encourage students to employ their mind-set and the school’s theme by interacting with technology through virtual labs, as well as combining online educational materials and opportunities with traditional place-based classroom methods.
The virtual lab environment at AHIS enables students to engage in 3D animation, quizzes and theoretical explanations using simulations to solidify their understanding of difficult concepts.
The school helps students become better members of the community by teaching morals, ethics and community responsibility.
In addition, AHIS helps encourage students to educate themselves and seek out information which gives them the basic building blocks needed to succeed later in life through further education and a career.
