Riyadh: A Canadian man is facing legal action on suspicion of involvement in terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia.
The Public Prosecution charged him also with transferring money to suspicious entities based in Lebanon.
The defendant denied the charges on Wednesday when the case was taken up for hearing at the Specialised Criminal Court in Riyadh in the presence of representatives of the Canadian embassy, as well as media personnel.
He was also charged with storing in his mobile phone video clips and pictures of the terrorist organisation Al Qaeda and its deceased leader Osama Bin Laden, and transferring money to parties in Lebanon.
The prosecutor pleaded that his act was aimed at undermining public order in the kingdom.
Appearing before the Criminal Court in Riyadh, in the presence of representatives of his country’s embassy and the media, the defendant denied the charges. The case was adjourned, Okaz newspaper reported.
