Onam festivities, which began earlier this month at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS), will come to an end with two major shows this weekend.
The ‘Agni’ dance-music show which took place last week was a grand success. The BKS DJ hall overflowed with spectators and the Soorya team led by Soorya Krishna Moorthy received a standing ovation from the audience.
“In my memory, we have never received this much appreciation for any of the events conducted at BKS,” said BKS president P V Radhakrishna Pillai.
Widely-admired Bollywood dancer-cum-choreographer Neerav Bavlecha and his team are set to rock the BKS stage tonight.
The first Indo-Bahrain Friendship Award will also be presented to Pico chairman and Miracle Graphics chief executive and founder Khalid Juman for his exemplary services to boost the friendship between
Indian and Bahraini communities.
South Indian nightingale K S Chithra will lead a concert paying tributes to immortal music legends Raveendran Master and Johnson Master on Friday.
She will be accompanied by a number of other famous South Indian singers K S Harisankar, K K Nishad, Teenu Tellence and Vijitha Sreejith.
“Because of her acceptability amongst the Bahrain Keralite community, Ms Chithra is performing for the third consecutive year at BKS,” said BKS general secretary M P Raghu.
During the event, BKS outstanding NRI award 2019 will be presented to Al Zamih Trading Industrial Supplies Company managing director C P Varghese and BKS Business Icon Award will be presented to Jamal Showaiter Sweets managing director Abdul Majeed Theruvath.
Opposition leader of the Kerala Legislative Assembly Ramesh Chennithala will be the chief guest.
Organisers are expecting a massive crowd to pour in for the dance and music show this weekend after last week’s major response.
More than 5,000 people are expected to enjoy the grand Onam feast which will be served on October 4, marking the culmination of Sravanam 2019.
