A DRAMA film will be screened at the Bahrain Cinema Club in Juffair tonight.
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind follows 13-year-old William Kamkwamba who is thrown out of the school he loves when his family can no longer afford the fees.
When a terrible drought struck his tiny village in Malawi, his family lost all of the season’s crops, leaving them with nothing to eat and nothing to sell.
Idea
This leads him to sneak into the library to explore science books, looking for a solution.
There, he comes up with the idea that would change his family’s life forever: he could build a windmill.
The film won the Alfred P Sloan Feature Film Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
