SOME of Bahrain’s top bands will be joining together for a Rock Me Pink musical spectacular under one roof to help raise awareness of breast cancer.
The line-up includes Must, Rule 11, Highend Band, Kape Right Band, The Tribe and Legato.
Some perform regularly at rival lounges, such as Republiq and Beats, competing against each other to attract customers. But musical hostilities will be set aside as they gather at Sherlock Holmes to perform on October 11.
Organiser Ryan Advincula, marketing & communications manager of The Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention & Spa, and an ‘enthusiastic drummer’, said: “My heart goes out to all the venues’ managements and the band leaders who have set their rivalry aside for such a good cause.”
Rock Me Pink will be an afternoon event starting from noon and finishing around 7pm. An affordable entrance fee of BD2 has been set with all ticket proceeds going towards Think Pink Bahrain, as part of numerous fund-raising events being staged during the international breast cancer awareness month.
Rule 11’s lead vocalist Robert ‘Rob Jungle’ Jennings said: “We’re delighted to be included in this line-up featuring some of Bahrain's best rock bands. The event will really rock and let’s all help support this worthy cause!"
