Dubai: The Dubai Ambulance has added three high-speed sports cars to its fleet as part of a plan to optimize its services and slash the response time by four minutes.
Zulekha Hospital provided a Corvette while NMC Hospital and MediClinic offered respectively a Nissan GTI and Range Rover.
The new vehicles which joined the First Responder fleet, will be used mainly to deal with women services
The high-speed cars which reduce the response time are fitted with 60 per cent of the medical equipment found in a normal full-size ambulance.
“Dubai has become the first Arab city to use high-end sports cars in ambulance services," said Dubai Ambulance executive director Khalifa Hassan Aldrai.
The high-speed car will deal with emergency cases in tourism sports, including Dubai Mall, City Walk, Jumeirah Walk and other sports events.
Each car has a driver and two paramedics, in addition to medical equipment for cardiac resuscitation and oxygen cylinders.
