Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti authorities have imposed a ban on importing live birds, hatching eggs and chicks from Chile due to the outbreak of avian flu in the Latin American country.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued the order to all relevant authorities as a preventive measure to avert any outbreak of the disease in Kuwait.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Control and Consumer Protection has also issued an edict lifting the ban on importing all types of live ruminant animals and camels from Austria which was declared free of blue tongue disease.
However, it imposed a ban on importing all species of live birds from Austria due to the outbreak of West Nile Fever, Al Anba reported.
