To spread awareness, the Abu Dhabi Police posted a video clip to inform commuters of the correct method of changing lanes.
Whoever breaks the rule and doesn't use an indicator to change lanes will be fined Dh400.
In a study based on more than 5,000 observed manoeuvres on UAE roads, between February and June 2019, the RoadSafetyUAE revealed that 47 per cent of people who changed lanes did not use indicators.
Motorists often do not use indicators when changing lanes, merging into highways or exiting highways which can be very dangerous.
