BAHRAIN’S star athlete Salwa Eid Naser is among 11 nominees for the Female World Athlete of the Year award as per the list released yesterday by the IAAF.
The voting process for the 2019 World Athletes of the Year begins this week ahead of the World Athletics Awards 2019 Night in Monaco on November 23.
Salwa is a much decorated athlete and her recent achievement was winning the 400m at the World Athletics Championship in Doha with a third-fastest time in history – 48.14.
She also won a Diamond League title and three gold medals at the Asian Championships and is undefeated at 400m outdoors.
The nominees for 2019 Female World Athlete of the Year are (in alphabetical order):
