MAN-of-the-match Rishabh Ramesh claimed four wickets as Bahrain registered an easy seven-wicket victory yesterday over Iran to reach the semi-finals of the the ACC Under-16 Western Region Cricket Tournament in Muscat.
Batting first, Iran were all out for 58 runs in 18.4 overs. Rishabh was well supported by Haniel Asir Robert and Ansh Kattayan, who claimed three and two wickets respectively.
In reply, Bahrain lost thee wickets as they successfully chased the target in just 10.5 overs. Aryan Koul top scored with 21 runs.
In the other Group ‘A’ match yesterday, the UAE beat Saudi Arabia by six wickets.
After yesterday’s victory, Bahrain, who had earlier lost to the UAE and defeated Saudi Arabia, are second with four points while UAE top the group on six points from three wins.
Saudi Arabia, are third with two points while Iran are at the bottom after losing all their three matches.
The semi-finals will be played on Monday with Bahrain taking the winners of Group ‘B’ while the UAE will clash with the runners-up.
The final round of matches in Group ‘B’ will be played today. Group ‘B’ comprises Oman, Qatar, Maldives and Kuwait.
