Jeddah: Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has boosted its fleet with a second US-manufactured Boeing Dreamliner.
The B787-10 plane hit the tarmac at Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport after a three-hour journey from US Charleston Airport.
A special ceremony that included a water cannon salute was held at the Jeddah airport to welcome the Boeing 787-10 to the kingdom.
National flag carrier Saudia welcomed its first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner last September 2019.
The national carrier will receive eight more B787-10 Dreamliner as part of an ambitious expansion plan to boost its fleet of passenger planes.
The new 787-10, the largest Boeing plane, will boost Saudia’s fleet of 13 Boeing 787-9s passenger planes.
The layout of the Saudia Boeing 787-10 will be 357 seats in a two-class configuration, with 24 seats in business class and 333 seats in guest class (economy).
Saudia also operates 33 777-300ER (extended range) jets, according to Sabq.
