Kuwait: The security authorities seized around 500 kilogrammes of cannabis during the third quarter of 2019, said a report in Alqabas daily newspaper.
The anti-narcotics squads busted drug-smuggling networks and confiscated a quantity of heroin, shabu and cocaine, in addition to more than 3.3 million amphetamine pills and other psychotropic substances.
The Criminal Security Section released the updated statistics in a press release, vowing a clampdown on drug-smuggling which has detrimental social, economic and security pitfalls on the country.
The press release said that the crackdown has reduced the scope of drug trafficking. Attempts to smuggle drugs were thwarted and traffickers arrested and referred to competent authorities.
