Muscat: The internet search engine giant Google celebrated Oman's 49th National Day anniversary, which falls on November 18.
The search engine put up a doodle representing the Omani National Flag on Google.com and Chrome browser homepages.
When users click on the animated flag, it takes them to website links, videos, and photos about Omani National Day.
November 18th, a time for family gatherings and celebrations, November 18th commemorates the 369th anniversary of independence from Portugal. This day also represents the 49th National Day since Qaboos bin Said al Said's rise to the Sultanate, as well as his 79th birthday.”, said Google in its definition of the day.
The national flag of Oman consists of three stripes-white, green and red- with a red bar on the left that contains the national emblem of Oman - Dagger and two swords.
