His interview with the British tabloid, Mirror, made headlines across the world. However, now, 'Friends' star Matt LeBlanc has tweeted that did not give an interview to the daily.
The interview quoted the actor saying, “For years and years, I barely left the house. I was burnt out. I wanted to not have a schedule, not be somewhere. I was in a position to do that. My agent was bummed. Most actors call their agents and say, ‘What’s going on?’. I’d call mine and say, ‘Please lose my number for a few years’. It was a very dark time. I almost had a nervous breakdown,” the daily quoted the actor as saying.
However, LeBlanc tweeted, "Hey, to clarify, I never had a nervous breakdown nor did I do an interview with the Mirror in the UK. So don't believe the hype. But thanks (sic)," he posted.
Reportedly, the actor faced a series of issues in the years following the 'Friends' finale in 2004. His daughter suffered from seizures when she was only eight months, followed by divorce with model Melissa McKnight.
LeBlanc has been in the news in the last couple of weeks following the hype of the 'Friends' reunion and has also just been announced as one of the host BBC's top-rated motoring show 'Top Gear.'
His appointment marks the first time the show has ever had a non-British host in its 39-year history.
He joins lead presenter Chris Evans on the revamped show, which is expected to return to TV screens in May.
