Bahrain will start their campaign in the 24th Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 24) today, taking on title holders Oman.
The Group B match will kick off at 5.30pm. The group icludes Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The top two teams of each group will qualify to the semi-finals and the final will be held on December 8.
Oman defeated Bahrain 1-0 in the semi-final in Khaleeji 23 to qualify for the final and they went on to win the trophy.
Led by Portuguese coach Helio Sousa, the national team conducted its last training session yesterday, ahead of today’s clash against Oman.
Addressing a press conference yesterday, Sousa stressed Bahrain’s readiness for the clash against the title holders.
“My focus is on our team, not on the merits of the opponents,” he said, looking forward to bagging three points and making a strong start in the championship.
“We have come to do our best. We have different information about the teams but we are prepared to win all the matches,” he said, stressing the importance of winning the first game of the group.
International midfielder Ali Haram, meanwhile, stressed the team’s resolve to make a positive start and please Bahraini fans.
The championship concludes on December 8.
