The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has unveiled plans for the spectacular activities and events that will accompany the 48th UAE National Day celebrations to be held on the Corniche and in Al Wathba.
Open to the public, the celebrations will include a 10-minute fireworks show, ‘pyro flyboard’ performers, ‘pyro jet-ski’ performances, and a laser and light show. There will also be a firework shows at 8pm on December 2 at the Zayed Heritage Festival in Al Wathba.
The various celebrations were created by DCT Abu Dhabi to bring together the Emirate’s residents and visitors to commemorate the 48th UAE National Day and create an unforgettable experience in a family-friendly atmosphere.
“The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi congratulates the UAE and its leaders on the 48th National Day. We look forward to many more years of prosperity and unity for our beloved nation,” said Ali Hassan Al Shaiba, executive director of Tourism and Marketing Sector at DCT Abu Dhabi. “The Department has organised these celebrations to provide residents and visitors in the UAE capital with a one-of-a-kind experience that will bring the community together on this special day.
“We take pride in having a diverse and united community here in Abu Dhabi, and it was important to demonstrate that pride through an inclusive event that captures the Spirit of the UAE and delights our residents at the same time. We encourage all families to join us at the Corniche to celebrate and enjoy a great show!”
The event is set to start at 8.30pm on Monday, December 2 at the Al Bahar beachside area of the Corniche, starting with a UAE National Day show involving various exciting elements simultaneously taking place, including a unique fireworks show on the water. The fireworks will span a two kilometre stretch and will include a laser and light show and a number of world-class performances.
The unique show will commence with ‘pyro jet ski’ and ‘pyro fly board’ performances, and will also include a world-renowned adventurer, who will perform stunts on a giant drone as he flies along the Corniche in an LED suit holding the UAE flag.
The UAE National Day celebrations are the latest in an array of initiatives and events organised by DCT Abu Dhabi to promote tourism in Abu Dhabi and provide its residents with extraordinary experiences in 2019. Earlier this year, DCT Abu Dhabi hosted the first editions of Abu Dhabi Showdown Week and Abu Dhabi Family Week, bringing world-class entertainment platforms such as the UFC 242 and the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards to the region for the first time. This was followed by the first edition of Abu Dhabi Race Week, a premium lifestyle platform launched to provide visitors and residents with unique entertainment, cultural, retail and culinary experiences in the build up to the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
UAE residents can take advantage of the UAE National Day break to enjoy some of Abu Dhabi’s exceptional entertainment offerings, including a 48 per cent discount on entrance to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, in addition to Clymb, the world’s largest indoor climbing wall, which is opened at Yas Mall on November 29. - TradeArabia News Service
