The first round of the 12th King Hamad International Golf Cup Championship kicked off yesterday morning at the Royal Golf Club with the participation of 96 golfers representing 20 countries.
The tournament, which is organised by the Bahrain Golf Association (BGA) and sponsored by Batelco, attracted the participation of 35 professional as well as 61 amateur players from regional countries, Europe and Asia.
The championship started with intense competition between the players, especially the professionals. Professional players Oun and Tondro , with 66 points, took the lead in the opening round
Third-placed O’Neill from Britain collected 67 points while Rose, with 68 points, was fifth.
The second round kicks off at 7am today, when 45 players will enter the finale which will be held tomorrow.
