Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) voiced optimism over the 40th GCC Summit which will be held on Tuesday (December 10) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Gargash said that his country looks forward to the Riyadh Summit with optimism and hope.
“The importance of the summit stems from its location (Saudi Arabia) owing to its strategic leverage,” he said in comments on his twitter account.
“We have a firm belief in the pivotal GCC and Arab role of Saudi Arabia,” he added, reiterating the UAE commitment to ensuring the successful GCC march in an era of “dispersion and anxiety”.
Dr Gargash stressed the crucial importance of the six-nation Arabian Gulf bloc which, he said, represents the cornerstone of regional stability and prosperity.
He lauded Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his leadership to ensure that the march which brings GCC leaders and peoples together continues unabated, according to Al Bayan.
