TWO planes carrying Bahraini football fans to cheer on the national team in the semi-finals of the Gulf Cup have landed in Doha, Qatar.
The Bahrain Football Association (BFA) made the announcement yesterday and asked those who wish to travel to register online via a link available on its Instagram page.
All Bahrainis above 18 were eligible to register and those applying had to produce their passport and CPR.
The BFA has also urged travellers to be respectful to other fans and represent Bahrain at its best.
This comes as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt, known as the Arab Quartet, severed ties with Qatar in June 2017, accusing Doha of supporting terrorism.
Collective action against Qatar saw land, air and sea borders closed, with all four countries also banning Qatar Airways flights.
