AA Victoria won first place yesterday in the mares one-year-old category with 91.83 points in the National Day Horse Beauty Championship .
De Rayhana topped the podium following a narrow win in the two-year-old category.
In the three-year-old section for mares, Batool finished on top bagging 92.17 points while Baraq was first in the four-six-year-old category for stallions.
Fareed Al Laial achieved first place in the one-year-old category for mares while AT Al Rabak comfortably conquered the two-year-old title for mares.
The event was held as per directives from Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and chairman of Supreme Council of Youth and Sports.
It was organised under the patronage of Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, president of Bahrain Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef).
“We decided to open the door for imported Arabian horses to compete because they represent an integral part of the local horses,” said Dr Khalid Ahmed, president of the Organising Committee
He hailed the extraordinary media coverage of the event and thanked Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi for his kind instructions to Bahrain Sports TV channel to give extensive coverage to the Championship.
