Bahrain bagged 16 medals in the GCC Snooker and Billiard Championship in Muscat.
The kingdom’s players claimed three gold and silver medals each and 10 bronze in the championship. Their overall tally stood at 12 medals in the previous championship held last year.
Promising talent Khalil Buseef clinched two gold medals in six and five-ball competitions in the under-16 snooker championship.
He also won bronze medal in the doubles with Sadiq Abdul Ghani and another bronze in the six-ball contest.
Veteran player Habib Sabah clinched two silver medals in the 15 and six-ball competitions, while Sadiq Abdul Ghani won a silver medal, teaming up with Khalil Buseef in the men’s doubles.
Budding star Wisam Rateb performed well in the billiards competition, winning a gold and a silver in the eight-ball contest.
Ibrahim Al Qaed bagged three bronze medals in the billiards competition in his first participation outside Bahrain.
Fahd Khalaf also bagged two bronze medals in the men’s doubles and the nine-ball competition.
