The Pakistani Women’s Association was formed in 1998 as a non-profit organisation.
Ever since its inception, the association prides itself by adding value to the community at large with involvement, charity and social causes.
One of its star initiatives is to support and educate deserving children through its Education Scholarship Fund (ESF).
Currently the ESF supports approximately 60 students of multiple nationalities at the Pakistan School as well as other educational institutions.
In recent years, the association has made donations towards Think Pink (Bahrain breast cancer society), Saturday Biryani party, Al Sanabel Orphan Care Society and Migrant Workers Protection Society, to name a few.
Recently, it organised a theatre play as a fundraising event which raised approximately BD10,000.
In addition, the association also organises an ongoing reading initiative called Reading Rocks at the Pakistan School.
The association would also like to appreciate St Christopher’s School in its recent collaboration for offering not only its time and energy generously in the Reading Rocks initiative, but assisted in uplifting the library for the senior school boys’ section.
The school has moreover pledged to provide comprehensive teachers’ training and other support.
The members of the association “are truly delighted with our new leadership back home and we hope that our Honourable Prime Minister Imran Khan takes our country beyond its boundaries.
“He is the ray of hope we have all been waiting for.
“We are also extremely grateful to the Government of Bahrain for their continued support to the Pakistani community in Bahrain and for recognising Pakistanis by awarding them service and civilian awards.”
