Salman Mohammed will make history next month, becoming the first Bahraini to take part in the Dakar International Rally, which will be held in Saudi Arabia from Sunday to January 17.
Salman is being supported by Wheels of Arabia, Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Labour Fund (Tamkeen).
He is stepping up daily training to enhance his physical fitness to be fully ready to take part in the highly competititve Dakar Saudi Arabia 2020.
He qualified for the event after taking part in the Morocco International Rally which was held last October.

More than 300 riders and drivers from 39 countries took part in the Moroccan rally, include former Formula 1 champion driver Fernando Alonso on Spain.
The Dakar Rally Saudi Arabia 2020 will kick off in Jeddah. More than 550 drivers are expected to take part in the highly-challenging 7500-kilometre-long rally – over 13 days of action and 12 stages across the Saudi desert.
Salman thanked Wheels of Arabia for supporting him to take part in the historic rally in the Arabian Peninsula, paying tribute to Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Ayman bin Tawfiq Almoayyed.
The teams will navigate their way to the north through the challenging trip along the coast, passing by the Red Sea Project and the megacity of Neom.
They will then cruise through the sandy hills of Ha’il on the way to Riyadh before taking a turn to the west and then head back towards the east to enter the Empty Quarter ahead of crossing the finish line in Qiddiya.
