AN Indian classical dance drama will be staged at the Cultural Hall on Friday.
The performance of ‘Meluha’ will be held under the patronage of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca) culture and arts director-general Shaikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Based on a mythological fiction tale, Meluha is an imaginary land of peace and love protected from evil and dark forces.
It is a story of friendship, a promise that is unbreakable, a bond that is present through good and bad times which is also created through good deeds towards oneself and others.
Produced by Steelmark Mideast managing director Vinod Das, under the banner of stage and film society Soorya, the dance drama’s concept, script, choreography and direction has been overseen by Bahrain-based artist Vidya Sreekumar.
Members of cast are all seasoned dancers and have performed on various local and international platforms.
Performers also include child prodigies from Bahrain and India.
South Indian playback singer and music director Palakkad Sreeram has arranged the music.
Chief guest at the event will be Baca culture and arts director Farah Mattar, and guests of honour will be Uneeco chairman and managing director Abdulrahman Juma, Dadabhai Group chairman Mohammed Dadabhai and LuLu Group International director Juzer Rupawala.
The event begins at 7.15pm.
