The Bahrain Combat Sports Council (BCSC) hosted a ceremony in honour of athletes who excelled for the country.
BCSC president Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa attended the ceremony which was held at the conference hall of Bahrain National Stadium.
The ceremony was attended by BCSC members, heads and members of the nine national associations affiliated with the council, players and media representatives.
Shaikh Salman honoured the champions as well as media representatives. He hailed combat athletes who excelled for the country, bagging 42 medals ever since the council was established last July. The medal haul comprised 25 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze.
He hailed the associations for their efforts to translate the vision of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to enhace the level of national teams.
