Beirut: The Lebanese Red Cross yesterday said on Twitter that more than 100 people were injured in clashes between security forces and protesters in the vicinity of parliament in central Beirut.
It said it took more than 40 injured people to hospitals, while more than 60 others were treated on the spot.
The demonstrators threw firecrackers and stones towards the security forces near Najma Square, and also threw steel separators towards them, trying to storm the iron fence. Protesters accused the security forces of firing rubber bullets in the vicinity of parliament.
