SEVEN feature races in a card of eight are the highlights of today’s horse racing at Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.
Inclination, owned by Al-Afoo Racing Stable, trained by Mohammed Saeed and to be ridden by Lee Newman, is the favourite to win the Lexus Cup for imported horses carrying a cash prize of BD3,000 and to be run over 1,800 metres, starting at 4.20pm.
Jensue and Bint Soghaan are the second and third favourites respectively.
There are 15 horses in the fray in the handicap race for the Lexus Cup carrying a cash prize of BD3,000 and to be run over 1,400 metres, starting at 4.45pm.
Another 14 horses will vie for the Royal Golf Club Cup, a handicap race, carrying a cash prize of BD2,500 and to be run over 1,600 metres, starting at 3.55pm.
Likethelook, owned by Ramadhan Stable, trained by Jaber Ramadhan and to be ridden by Abdulla Faisal, is tipped to win the Lexus Cup for imported horses carrying a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 1,200 metres, starting at 3.30pm.
Roman River and Five Angels are the second and third favourites respectively.
A small field of seven horses will battle it out in the only support race of the day carrying a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 1,200 metres, starting at 3.05pm.
Krayan 1706, owned by Victorious, trained by Yousif Taher and to be ridden by Abdulla Faisal, looks in best shape to win the Fatees Al Hajeri Cup for Arabian horses carrying a cash prize of BD1,500 and to be run over 1,200 metres, starting at 2.40pm.
Al Saqlawy 1757 and Kuheilan Umm Zorayr 1766 are the second and third favourites respectively.
The race for the Lexus Cup for imported horses, carrying a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 1,200 metres straight, starting at 2.15pm, has attracted the smallest field of six horses.
Nearest
But Aryaaf, owned by Al-Afoo Racing Stable, trained by Mohammed Saeed and to be ridden by Lee Newman, is the favourite to win this race ahead of its nearest challengers Teenar and Bill Neigh.
Galayid, owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and to be ridden by Brett Doyle, is the best bet to win the Lexus Cup for locally bred horses carrying a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 1,000 metres straight, starting at 1.50pm.
Navy Blue and Najim are expected to give the favourite a run for its money.
